THANKS!!

Thank you to everyone who has contacted me so far. I am so happy to see everyone interested!! I will be compiling a list of those of you willing to be on the planning committee this weekend for distribution next week. I also plan to post a blog with names of classmates I am not sure how to find. Hopefully we can find enough next week that I can send out formal invitations with RSVP and cost information after July 4th.

I had a suggestion made for a list of babysitters to be available for the night of the reunion. The idea is to have a list of local CPR certified sitters (mostly teens) available a few weeks in advance in case fellow classmates needed to find a reliable sitter for their children. In a similar situation, a few parents got together and reserved adjoining rooms so the kids could be dropped off to play & stay together while the parents attended the event. Is there anyone interested in this? Especially those coming in from out of town? Let me know if this is something I should pursue as an option.

Last bit of news for the day, Candace VanHorn called with wonderful news! She works for a sister company of The Village Inn (I had no idea) and may be able to score a discounted rate for the night. She is currently in negotiation with our liaison at the hotel, and plans to contact me as soon as she finds something out. Once final arrangements are made between The Village Inn, Candace, and myself... I will sign the contract and determine a price for the event. Thank you again, Candace!!!

A DATE HAS BEEN SET!

Here's the basics that we're working from:

Friday, Sept 25 7:30pm -- football game at home against West Davidson

Saturday, Sept 26 -- family-friendly picnic at Tanglewood park. Light lunch provided. Cost and time to be determined.

Saturday, Sept 26 7pm-1am -- 15 yr reunion at The Village Inn in Clemmons. Dinner, DJ, Photographer. Cost to be determined. Adult only. Semi-formal attire. Rooms available at discounted rate (approx $70)

SAVE THE DATE!! More info will be posted as soon as possible. Formal invites to follow.

ATTENTION: Reunion Alert!!

Hello friends,

It is official!!! ...We're currently in the discussion phase of planning our 15 yr class reunion. We're trying to get some details anchored before we nail down a date, but we have a few questions to ask you guys up front. Please respond to the questions below as soon as possible. Once we get an idea of what the majority anticipates, we will get the ball rolling!! I intend to set up a website for the reunion once the structure is in place. I will post another note here so that everyone can reference it when it is available.

1. Who all is interested in attending!? (An estimated head count is crucial in determining cost, etc.)

2. Would anyone be interested in attending a NDH home football game the Friday prior to the reunion. (This factor will help us determine dates.)

3. Our intentions are to host a daytime family picnic luncheon, and then an adult only semi-formal dinner that night. The picnic would be relatively inexpensive. The semi-formal will be a buffet-style with dancing/DJ. This should hopefully accommodate everyone. Any objections? What would be your ideal ticket price for the dinner?

4. Discounted rooms will be available. Current rates are around $70. Thoughts on this?

5. We will be compiling a committee of helpers for things like decoration and research. Anyone interested in volunteering?

6. Can you please help us find everyone?? Thanks to facebook and MySpace, we have a good head start. If you know how to reach anyone NOT currently on either site, would you please have them contact me at jbauguss@triad.rr.com or 336-225-1121?

7. Does anyone have anything else they would like to add?

If I have not added them as friends yet, please ask them to request me so that I can include them as well.
