There is a strong possibility that the reunion dinner scheduled for the evening of 9/26 will be canceled due to lack of funds.
I have contacted the reunion committee regarding the daytime event (whether to keep it or not) and about rescheduling the event in general to give folks more time to plan their expenses, etc. An announcement will be officially posted this week.
It is with great sadness that I make this announcement, as I have put a lot of heart and soul (and money) into making this event a success. Although there has been much interest in the event, I have not received the funds to meet budget. I have only received 5 checks, which will be refunded once a final decision is made about the event.
The shelter at Tanglewood will remain reserved for the time being. Perhaps we can still meet for the home football game that Friday night, and have the family picnic luncheon Saturday day. However, if we go that route, I will have to charge a small fee for the day event at Tanglewood as reimbursement for the shelter rental. Otherwise, I will request a refund and cancel that event as well.
I would love to hear suggestions and opinions on this situation. Is there a time better for everyone? How much time will you need to budget and prepare for the reunion if three months was not sufficient? Your feedback is vital as the reunion committee regroups this week to discuss the possibility of rescheduling this event.
Thank you,
Jennifer
